About Tidy Affairs
Small, independent and purpose-built.
Our story
We were inspired to build Tidy Affairs in January 2022. Our vision was to create the simplest, most secure way to store and share information with trusted people. We launched the first version of Tidy Affairs in September 2022.
Tidy Affairs is designed, built and privately owned in the UK. We don’t have venture capital funding, we don’t answer to external shareholders, and we don’t need to grow at all costs. We built something useful, and we charge a simple price for it.
We believe in
Privacy first
Your data belongs to you. We use zero-knowledge encryption to ensure that only you and your key holders can access your data.
Simplicity
Ease of use. We keep things simple so you can get started quickly. Looking after your data is the focus, not learning a new tool.
Transparency
No hidden terms, no surprises. We’re open about the service we’ve built, what data we collect, and how we protect it.
Building for good
We gift Tidy Affairs to people who share a more urgent need to tidy their affairs. For full details see our Free Access page.
Built to last
When you use a service to plan for the future, you need to know that the service will still be here when the time comes. We understand this, and we’ve structured Tidy Affairs with longevity in mind.
- Our hosting is built to the same standards as mission-critical healthcare systems — where reliability isn’t optional, it’s essential.
- We maintain a reserve fund equal to 10 years of hosting costs to ensure that, at any point in time, the infrastructure funding for Tidy Affairs is secure for the next decade.
- We have contractual agreements in place with trusted third parties to ensure that Tidy Affairs can continue even if our whole team became suddenly unavailable.
Building for good
Every paid Tidy Affairs account helps support our free access initiative. We provide Tidy Affairs at no cost in the UK to:
- People receiving end-of-life or hospice care
- Those diagnosed with progressive cognitive conditions (such as dementia or Alzheimer’s)
- Serving armed forces personnel and veterans
If you’re a care provider or support organisation we’d love to partner with you to gift Tidy Affairs to your service users and members. For full details see our Free Access page.
